Send anonymous email messages .

Note2Email is a simple web form that you may use for sending email messages anonymously to just about anyone – no need to create any account.

Your IP address is not passed in the message header so your identity remain hidden and the email recipient will never know who exactly sent that message and from where.

Other than sending anonymous emails, this service will also come handy if you are sitting on a public terminal and want to quickly send yourself an email without logging into your own web account for security reasons.

You may send unlimited number of emails with Note2Email but one at a time. Obviously there’s potential for misuse so you can ask them to blacklist your email address so that people can’t send you messages anonymously.

Google alerts : Monitor and track your traffic !

Google alert is a wonderful tool that I have now been using for a while with succesful result.I have been doing web seo for over a decade now and usually rely on the simplest and free tools on the net for tremendous amount of search traffic. One of the most fascnating tool without which I cannot do is Google alerts. Not only it helps me optimise my site it also helps me rank better ! Want to know more read on !

Ever wondered why after a certain time interval you stop receiving traffic from search engines or your volume of traffic has dropped tremendously within a certain days ?

Every month thousands of websites are hacked and tremendous amount of back links are generated to spam sites by black hats seo.

It is indeed unfortunate and a bit irritating when I find that the reason of traffic on major sites is due to these backlinks.

Google doesn’t give you a warning when they see lots of links to black hat sites – they just stop sending traffic to the pages that contain them. If the spammer has only added the code to a few of your pages the traffic drop can be quite small and it becomes almost impossible to diagnose the problem.

So here is how google alerts can help.

Google Alerts can create advanced search queries in order to set up an alert to monitor our websites for any terms that might appear .We can’t monitor every term but it is indeed helpful with a lot of spam terms that are most likely.

To start with we need to think of a few likely spam terms that people might like to inject in our site and then use them to make up a search query:
viagra OR cialis OR levitra OR Phentermine OR Xanax site:law9.com

where your site goes in place of law9.com

Now simply go to Google Alerts and enter the query above into the “Create a Google Alert” box and you will get an email whenever Google spots one of your chosen spam words on your site.

In addition to this you can also keep a track of your most favourite topics on the interent with a range of frequecny. For example I like to know everything that is happening in the “Lego” world so I just sign up for the term lego with google alerts and generally get everything in my inbox about lego when updated.

Run multiple Instances of Google Talk on your windows

Its been a while since I have fiddled to run multiple instances of Gtalk on my computer. Although now I majorly use Ubuntu as an operating system I still windows to run some software that are absolutely necessary for me. Since I have more than 1 Id at gtalk and all different people spread across different IDs I thus found a solution of running multiple instances of Gtalk.

Law9 -

To have multiple ids logged into Google Talk from the same computer, just change the Google Talk shortcut (in Programs or Desktop) to include /nomutex at the end of it and save.

You can also run the program from Start » Run and type “c:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex The /nomutex option allows you to open more than one instance of Google Talk and login with different ids.

Also in order to make some changes in the interface for bold type *your message* , for italic type _your message_, for line break type shift+enter, use control+tab to switch through open chat windows, etc.. A chat message can be 32767 characters long.

Improve Your Monitor Speed – Sooth your eyes

In just a few clicks, you can improve the appearance of items on your screen, make things easier for your eyes, and get peppier performance out of your PC.

Making adjustments to settings, and turning various things on or off, is known as “tweaking”, and sometimes “optimizing”. And being a Geek, I love to tweak my machines until they’re running like a Indy 500 car. Today’s quick tip will take you all of 45 seconds to do, and it will give you noticeable results.

HOW TO :

Turn on font smoothing, and turn off special effects.
The settings we’re going to tweak are all found on the Appearance tab of your Display Properties: right-click on a blank area of your Desktop and select “Properties”

On the “Appearance” tab, click on the “Effects” button.

Here we’re going to turn one item on, and three off, by placing or removing checkmarks.
1) Turn on the ClearType font smoothing feature by placing a check in its checkbox, and using the drop-down arrow to set it to ClearType. This will make reading easier, and reduce headache-causing eye strain.
2) Turn off the “bells-and-whistles” special effects that, while ‘modern’ and ‘cool’, really only slow things down quite unnecessarily. (aka “waste system resources”)
* uncheck “transition effects”
* uncheck “shadows”
* uncheck “show windows contents while dragging”
3) Click OK, and OK again.

That’s it. You’re done. Easy, right? Right. Should you change your mind someday, undoing these changes is just as easy.. just place a check again. (But I very much doubt you will!)

Tweaking Send To option on Right click

A handy time-saver is the Send To feature, found in the right-click menu (called the “context menu”). By using the Send To command, you can quickly send a file to different locations such as a ‘zipped’ folder, another person using e-mail, or the My Documents folder.

This image shows the default places you can send your file in Windows XP: compressed file, desktop, mail recipient, My Documents, and 3½” floppy disk. You can remove Send To destinations you never use — such as the floppy drive if your machine doesn’t have one (most newer PCs don’t) — or add destinations you use frequently, in a few simple steps.

Take control of your menus. This process is much like adding/removing shortcuts from your Start Up folder. First, we need to open the Send To folder, which is a “hidden” folder inside your Documents and Settings folder (to read my article on hiding/unhiding folders). Open your Run dialogue by hitting Windows key+R, or Start >Run, and type in “sendto” (no quotes).

Here you see the Send To shortcuts which appear on your right-click submenu. To remove an item you never use, just drag it to your Recycle bin (I have already deleted the floppy drive). I frequently send files to a folder on another computer on my network, and for purposes of example I am going to demonstrate adding that to my Send To menu — but this method can be adapted for any location you’d like to send files.
